I own a Kubota tractor with hydrostatic transmission, front end loader and backhoe. Kubota recommends hydraulic fluid changes at 400 hour intervals. Hydraulics unless leaking are supposed to be sealed systems.

If there is a rubber hose in the suction line, pinch it and look for cracks. Try loosening the hydraulic oil filler cap on the tractor housing in case the vent is plugged.

OK for the final drives etc. From what I've been told here, the straight hydraulic oil doesn't absorb water like the hytran does so better for the long run as it doesn't have to changed as often. Apr 03, 2015 · New hydraulic fluid is also a light tan color, the factory fluid has a red dye added to it to make it easier to see. If you're looking for red in the glass that may be why it isn't there. If you have a loader, it will require extra fluid for the cylinders. If you drained and refilled with exactly what came out I wouldn't expect it to be off much.
